This volume of 7 ELECTRONIC Skit Packages presents the themes of compassion, unconditional love, forgiveness, integrity, evangelism, and stewardship.

In the first skit, Tina's suspension for lying turns into a comical explanation of the meaning behind the word "parable." Rufus explains that a "parable" is "an earthly story with a heavenly meaning." Throughout the rest of the series, six of Jesus' parables are told, as the real-life situations in the skits mirror the conflicts and settings of the original parable. In the middle of each skit, Rufus reads the parable, directly from the Bible, as the characters act it out in "mime fashion," then the characters assume their regular roles and demonstrate how the "parable truth" is applied in real-life. Each lesson suggests a snack with the "best part in the middle," like corn-dogs, Twinkies, cup cakes, etc., to help make the point that you have to dig for the "best part" (the lesson) in Jesus' parables. The six lessons in this series begin with "The Sower." Each week's truth is identified in one word: "Witness," "Share," etc; the children are encouraged to plant that "seed" in their hearts and multiply God's truth in their lives. The "Good Samaritan;" teaches us to help others; the "Unmerciful Servant," teaches forgiveness. "Lazarus and the Rich Man" teaches sharing; "The Wise and Foolish Builders" warns us to obey God's Word. The "Prodigal Son" teaches repentance.

Goals .
Remember that a parable is an “earthly story with a heavenly meaning.”
Look for the “deeper lesson” in the parables of Jesus.
Be “farmers” who plant the Gospel in other people.
Not allow worldly things to be more important than God.
Be “good soil” and allow God’s Word to direct their lives.
View all as neighbors, not just those who live nearby.
Do what they can to help when they see someone in need.
Treat all equally; never devalue anyone due to prejudice.
Confess their sins to God, and apologize to others.
Forgive others when they hurt them or break their things.
Realize that God will not forgive them, unless they forgive others.
See that selfishness results in separation from God and from others.
Share their belongings with those who are less fortunate.
Not lead an excessive, self-indulgent lifestyle.
Realize that they can never “run away” from God’s love.
Be grateful for the welcoming, forgiving heart of God.
Not be like the “older brother” when God forgives others.
